Do you offer manual or automatic lessons?We offer automatic lessons only, taught in a 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross—smooth, quiet, and perfect for learners.

How experienced are your instructors?Peter has been a fully qualified instructor since 2004, and Agnieszka (Agnes) is also fully qualified. We’ve helped hundreds of learners gain confidence and pass their test.

How long is each lesson?Lessons are 1.5 hours, which we've found gives you the best progress without feeling rushed or tired.

What car will I be learning in?You’ll be driving a white 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross Excel, a modern, comfortable automatic that’s ideal for learning.

I’m really nervous about driving. Can you help?Absolutely. Nervous drivers are welcome! We specialise in helping you stay calm and build confidence step by step.

What days do you offer lessons?Lessons are available Monday to Friday, with fixed time slots depending on your availability.

Is there a waiting list?Yes, we often have a waiting list due to high demand. If no slots are available, you can join the waiting list via our website form—we’ll contact you as soon as a space becomes available.

Can I choose my own lesson times?We offer flexible scheduling based subject to availability. You can let us know your preferred days and times when booking, and we’ll try to match you up with a suitable slot.

How do I book driving lessons?You can check availability and book your lessons directly through our website at www.DrivingSchoolRugby.com. Just fill in the form, pay and an email will be sent to confirm everything.

Can I be picked up from home, work, or college?Yes! We offer flexible pickup and drop-off—just let us know where’s most convenient for you.

Can I book more than one lesson at a time?Yes, once you’re on the regular schedule, you can block book lessons weekly to secure your preferred time slot.

What happens if I need to reschedule?Just let us know with at least 48 hours’ notice and we’ll do our best to rearrange. Short notice cancellations may still be charged.

How much do lessons cost?Our latest prices are listed on the Pricing page of our website. We offer transparent rates for 1.5-hour lessons with no hidden charges.

Do you offer block booking discounts?Yes, we offer discounts when you book lessons in blocks of 10 hours or more. It’s a great way to save money and secure your preferred time slots.

How do I pay for lessons?We accept payment by bank transfer or payment online. Bank transfer details will be provided once your booking is confirmed.

Do you charge for cancellations?We ask for at least 48hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may still be charged.

Is the driving test fee included in the lesson price?No, the DVSA test fee is separate and paid directly to the DVSA when you book your test. However, if you’d like to use our car for your test, we do offer a test day package, which includes a warm-up lesson and use of the car.

Do you offer any special packages for nervous drivers or beginners?Yes! We’re happy to tailor a lesson plan to suit your confidence level and experience. Just let us know what you need when you book.

Can I start learning to drive before taking my theory test?Yes, absolutely! You can start learning to drive before taking your theory test. In fact, many learners find that having practical driving lessons alongside studying for their theory test helps things make more sense. You’ll need to pass your theory test before you can book your practical driving test, but there’s no need to wait to start lessons — the earlier you get behind the wheel, the more confident you’ll feel.

What will I learn in my first lesson?Your first lesson is all about getting comfortable in the car. We’ll go over the controls, basic movement, and set a calm pace based on your confidence. No pressure—just progress.

How many lessons will I need?It varies for each person, but most learners need between 30–47 hours of professional tuition to be test-ready. We’ll keep track of your progress and help you learn at a steady pace.

Will I always have the same instructor?Yes—consistency is key. You’ll always have lessons with either Peter or Agnes, depending on who you book with.

Do you offer mock driving tests?Yes, we can include mock tests as part of your preparation. These are great for reducing nerves and getting used to the test format.
