Reversing Camera

First things first

“This camera is an aid, not your eyes. You still need mirrors and checks around you. The picture helps you judge space, but you are still in charge.”

What the lines mean 👇

🔴 Red line – STOP line

  • This is your danger line.

  • If something touches the red line, you are very close and should stop.

  • Think of it as ‘any closer and we’re kissing bumpers’ 💋🚗

🔵 Blue lines – Vehicle width

  • These show the width of your car.

  • If the blue lines fit between objects (like kerbs, cars, or walls), your car will fit.

  • If something crosses a blue line, that’s where a wheel or side of the car would hit.

🟡 Yellow lines – Predicted path

  • These show where the car will go if you keep the steering exactly as it is now.

  • Turn the wheel ➝ the yellow lines move.

  • Straight wheel ➝ straight yellow lines.

  • They’re brilliant for understanding steering effect, especially for new drivers.

How to actually use them 🚗🧠

  • Use yellow lines to plan where the car is going

  • Use blue lines to check clearance

  • Use the red line as your “that’s close enough” warning

But…
👉 Always pause, check mirrors, and do a quick look around before continuing.

The golden rule 🏆

“If the camera and your eyes disagree… believe your eyes.”

Cameras flatten distance and can lie a little. Your observations don’t.
